Spacious self-catering villa with 3 apartments in Aude, South France with own computer and free ADSL Internet access. The gite is split into 3 self-contained apartments, the ground floor has a king-sized room, plus comfortable sofa bed, the 1st floor has a double room, twin room and sofa bed in the spacious lounge and the 2nd floor has a four-poster bed. The gite is well equipped with washing machine, microwave, full kitchen, etc. and has a beautiful terrace with seating for 8.
Couiza is a thriving village with 2 patisseries, 2 restaurants and a local shop and is surrounded by many holiday attractions - walks through beautiful landscapes, horse-riding, river swimming, canoeing and other water sports. The town of Rennes-le-Chateau is just 4km away, which inspired the story for The Da Vinci Code and castles dot the landscape, including the old city of Carcassonne, where you can walk around the ancient turrets and really get a feel for what it was like.
Kitchen:
Well-equipped kitchen on each floor with full oven, fridge with freezer compartment, percolator, juicer, washing machine, etc. Microwave on 1st floor.
Dining:
The 1st floor apartment has a table that expands to seat 10, so that if you book both apartments together and wish to eat in comfort, you can do so.
Bedrooms:
1st floor has a double room, twin room plus sofa bed in lounge. Ground floor has a king-sized bedroom, plus sofa bed in lounge.
Bathrooms:
One bathroom on each floor, with separate WC on each floor.
Entertainment:
As well as the many local attractions, there is free Internet access on the computer and also two toy boxes for the under 5's and a selction of books.
Outside:
Beautiful gite with seating for 8 (plus 2 portable chairs) looking over the river Salz.

Languedoc-Roussillon offers a wide range of holiday activities, making Mode DArtiste the ideal place from which to enjoy your holiday in the South of France.
Children and well-behaved pets are welcome, with a high chair, toy box and plastic utensils available for children under five. Please note that the gites are non-smoking throughout.
The apartments are tastefully decorated and include original artwork by two artists. Both apartments have double glazing and are designed in the French style, to stay as cool as possible in the summer and as warm as possible in the winter.
The ground floor apartment sleeps up to four people and comprises:
∑ A king-size bedroom
∑ Spacious lounge with comfortable sofa-bed. It has a music system with CD-player, tape deck and radio.
∑ Separate bathroom and WC
∑ A well-equipped kitchen, including washing machine, full oven and hob, percolator, etc.
The 1st floor apartment sleeps up to six people and comprises:
∑ A large master bedroom
∑ A twin room
∑ A light and airy lounge with comfortable sofa bed. It also has a dining table that expands to seat ten, so if you book both apartments and wish to eat together during your holiday, you can do so in comfort.
∑ Separate bathroom and WC
∑ A well-equipped kitchen, including washing machine, full oven and hob, percolator, etc.
The terrace (55 m2) is a south facing sun trap with two trees that provide ample shade in the long Mediterranean summer. The terrace overlooks the river Salz, a gently flowing tributary to the Aude, where you can watch the sun go down over the village while sipping your favourite tipple. Both ground floor and 1st floor guests have use of the terrace.
Aude & Languedoc-Roussillon
Couiza itself is a busy and friendly village, complete with all amenities, including two patisseries, a tabac, a local grocery store, an excellent restaurant and two cafe bars. If it's Cordon Bleu you're after, then Languedoc-Roussillon boasts the finest food, cooked to perfection. There are also many restaurants within a short drive in both Limoux and Quillan.
Near to Couiza are the health giving thermal spas of Alet les Bains and Rennes les Bains with outdoor swimming pools fed by natural springs with temperatures at a steady 30 degrees all year round. Rennes-le-Chateau is 4km away, which is shrouded in mystery and is said to hide clues to a lost treasure.
The gite is 34 km from the medieval city of Carcassonne, famous for its city within a city. Carcassonne has many museums and historic monuments to visit and is a highly recommend holiday attraction. 8 km South of Couiza is the attractive market town of Quillan, which heralds the beginning of the climb into the Pyrenees.
East of Couiza is the forest of Arques and its swimming lake, to the West another two lakes, Montbel, where you can wind-surf, canoe, kayak or hire pedalos and lake Puivert, which also has one of the most outstanding Cathare castles. The castles of the Cathars dot the beautiful valley of Aude from Narbonne to Foix.
Just over an hour away to the East are huge swathes of beautiful Mediterranean beaches - plenty of room to find a secluded spot on your holiday, should you so desire. If, however hotdog's, buckets and spades and cheeky postcards make your heart sing, Narbonne Plage will come high on your list of must sees.
There is so much to do in Languedoc-Roussillon on your French holiday, it's difficult to know where to begin. Locally water-sports include heated spas, canoeing, kayaking, white water rafting and trout fishing (or tickling, if you prefer). There's pony-treking on the local and much loved horses of the Camargue, golf and even a casino with piano bar and restaurant, a dinosaur museum, a museum of hats and a museum of honey, truly something for everyone!
The Pyrenees have long been considered one of the top areas for skiing, with numerous ski resorts which also cater for other winter sports, including snow boarding and tobogganing, often in brilliant sunshine and always with awe-inspiring views.
Our earliest arrival time is 11am and the departure time is 4pm, to allow us time to get the gite clean and ready. When you arrive you will have tea, coffee, milk, salt, pepper, tea towels, loo roll, etc. This is included in the price, as is bedding.
